COVID-19
To our Valued Customers
With growing global concerns around COVID-19 (“coronavirus”) and the impact in Canada, we wanted to provide you with an update on Leon’s response thus far and our commitment going forward.
Our foremost concern during this time is the health, safety and well-being of our associates and our customers. We are monitoring the information and directions provided by Canadian public health authorities at this important time.
We are committed to taking all appropriate measures to ensure our stores and our products are safe and will remain safe. We also have in place existing plans and training protocols to ensure that all customer interactions including in store, pick-up, delivery and in-home service remain as safe as is reasonably possible. The Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the current public health risk associated with coronavirus as low, we continue to monitor for developments very closely and will take appropriate action as the situation unfolds.
We have implemented additional measures to ensure your safety as well as the safety of our team, including:
- Introducing enhanced cleaning protocols in all of our locations, with particular focus on high traffic and high contact areas. Coronaviruses are easily eliminated by routine surface cleaning;
- Ensuring that our products remain safe and free from contamination;
- Implemented appropriate protocols to ensure our in-home delivery and service is performed safely; and
- Increasing communications and reminders with our guests, partners and associates on important health and safety measures.
We have decided to continue operations and keep our stores open during this time, as long as it is safe to do so. As Canada’s most trusted home furnishings retailer, we believe it is important for Canadians to continue providing the products our customers need in their homes. We also employ almost 3000 Canadians who will continue to provide you the services you need as long as it is safe to do so. With so many customers depending on us who are moving into new homes or whose products may need service, we feel it is paramount to continue operating. If you prefer you can always visit leons.ca or call your closest Leon’s store.
To protect yourself and others, medical and government officials ask that anyone who is feeling unwell please refrain from leaving their home so that together we can ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone. Know that we are doing our part by putting employment policies and training in place so that our associates take the necessary steps to keep us all safe.
Again, we continue to monitor this unique situation closely and will provide ongoing updates as are necessary.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
Mike Walsh
President
